Ear Correction/Otoplasty

Otoplasty, also known as ear surgery, is a commonly performed procedure. It is intended for individuals who feel discomfort with the appearance of their ears, whether due to shape, size, or asymmetry.

Ear surgery can be performed on both adults and children. For children, the procedure can be done once the ears have fully developed, which typically occurs after the age of 6.

In children, the surgery can have a positive impact on self-esteem and social interactions, especially if they have experienced negative comments about their ears.

During the procedure, the surgeon removes excess tissue, reshapes the cartilage, and positions the ears closer to the head in a natural way, giving them a more aesthetically pleasing shape and position. After the surgery, the incisions are closed with stitches, which will be removed later.

After otoplasty, the patient is informed about wound care guidelines to maximize the healing process and avoid post-operative complications.

Every procedure is preceded by a consultation with a surgeon and requires qualification for the surgery.
