The main factors triggering discolourations on the body include the UV radiation during sun baths, the skin ageing processes, and hormonal disorders. Stains can also develop as an aftermath of certain diseases and of therapy with certain drugs. They can also develop following injuries.
To remove stains, one should apply a beam of erbium-yag laser absorbed by skin chromophores. The process which takes place is that of ‘photothermolysis’. This paves the way to complete coagulation of melanin – the stain dye. To get rid of it, the organism needs about 2 weeks, where in the period the process of reducing melanin-rich cells occurs. The effects are visible at the end of the period. The treatment does not require anaesthesia. The recuperation takes 2-3 days.
